Waiting for Sunday

Tired? Worn out? Zapped? Sapped? Frazzled? Or, plum tuckered out?

Yes to all of the above for me.

Am I the only one exhausted?!  Amen. How many of us can relate to feeling drained?  Me. I can!

I. am. weary.  You too?

There are many things in life that make you weary: Waiting for the promotion or interview, waiting for your health to improve, waiting for Prince Charming to show up, waiting for that positive pregnancy test… Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Today, Craig and I sit and wait with you.  We are waiting for Baby.  But, as we wait along with you, it’s my hope that we can bring all of us some hope.
In the wait, it’s difficult, sometimes impossible, to see what’s ahead.  As the weariness creeps in and tries to settle in to stay, see this: God offers us hope in his son Jesus Christ.

When Jesus was crucified on the cross, the disciples and those that loved him were devastated.  Their friend and leader had just died.  Their Savior had been hung on a cross, causing a slow death that would eventually lead to asphyxiation.  Now what?  They couldn’t see ahead.

Jesus was crucified on a Friday.  Today, we recognize this day as Good Friday on the Easter calendar.  What’s so good about Good Friday?  They couldn’t see it yet, but the good was coming.

On Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead (Matthew 28).  He conquered death!  Hallelujah!!!  They couldn’t see Sunday before it’s time came.

Are you waiting for your Sunday?  Are you weary?  See that there is hope in Jesus.  Jesus knew that he would conquer death and be raised from the dead on Sunday.  He knows when your Sunday is coming too.  Your Sunday is coming.  It might look different than what you had imagined, but place your hope in Jesus and see that he will provide according to his plan.

Hoping in Sunday,
Beth

    An Ephesians 1:5 Blog

"In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will." -Eph. 1:5 (NIV)

I am an adopted daughter of Christ sharing how God is at work as we grow our family through adoption.

I pray that I can begin to express in words how God's been at work in our lives.  I pray that He will be glorified as we share with others.  I pray for you! I pray that as you read this you will see God at work in your own life and that  your relationship with Him will be blessed.
