Dear friends and family,
We’re adopting and we want to invite you to be a part of the adoption journey!
We are so thankful to our friends and family who have demonstrated their love throughout our lives. And today, we continue to be overwhelmed with the love shown to us in our journey of adoption. We sincerely thank you and are truly grateful for each of you!
One of the most uncomfortable parts of the whole adoption process to me (Beth) is asking for help. (Bleh! I hate it.) It wasn't the interviews, home study, or even the waiting that's the most difficult, so please bare with me. We come before you both humble and uncomfortable. Today, Craig and I are asking for your help. As we continue on our adoption journey, we're calling on the help of our friends and families. We invite you to make a difference in a child’s life, an immeasurable difference that will change his or her life forever and bless our lives as we become parents!
Expenses in the adoption process can be overwhelming. Still, we feel compelled by God to grow our family through adoption and He has blessed us enormously! We’ve been reminded throughout this process of our own adoption into God’s family as His children (Ephesians 1:5). We hope to imitate God’s love as we grow our own family.
Our goal is to raise $27,000! The actual expenses in the adoption process may differ because there are so many variables. In breaking down the $27,000 goal, the money raised will go towards the $18,000 in agency fees, estimated $9,000 in living expense for the birth family, and estimated $5,000 in legal fees.
Craig and I have drastically adjusted our budget to save for the expenses. We affectionately call ourselves “adoption broke.” Our new lifestyle is a welcomed sacrifice because it helps bring home our little guy or gal. We hope to save $13,500 or more of the adoption expenses from our own income, and the remaining funds through fundraising.
We have also planned two fundraisers to help with the adoption expenses. We are very excited about the fundraisers! They are very close to our hearts and will bring together family and friends. With these fundraisers we hope to provide something to you! We are excited to offer handmade ornaments for your Christmas tree and an event that will gather loved ones together for a home cooked meal, great music, and a silent auction. We hope that you'll be a part of it as we raise funds for the adoption expenses.
How can you help? Well, I’m glad you asked because we are relying on your help! Please see below for details.
In love,
Craig & Beth
